About Me
Sirius: The Book Blogger
Hi! I’m Sirius, a book blogger slash reader enthusiast who started reading at the age of 5. I have five cats, which can be seen in the banner (they’re cute, aren’t they?) and am currently still figuring out life. Reading is one of my hobbies, and I like sharing the manhwas, mangas, and web novels I read and how I feel about them. So if you discover my website and find new stories to read because of my manhwa reviews, let me know your feedback. It’s fun talking with someone about books!
How I started reading
Before, I remember how my encyclopedia collection that my mom bought for me caught my interest. I usually looked for its pictures, certainly being awed by how the glossy texture of each page felt nice on my fingertips. I used to remember having kids magazines where each magazine would have different stories about princesses. Though I hardly remember the story itself, it still lingered on me—how excited I was to check a specific page every time my mom bought it. Lastly, the first manga collection I got, which was translated into my language, was Doraemon. It was vivid yet nostalgic. Without a doubt, that’s how I got into reading. And I guess reading would be part of my entire life (although I won’t mind).
What I read
I like reading historical romance these days. I enjoy looking at the art and how far from reality the story is. It’s not painfully similar to our reality, and I guess I just like the overall story. Besides historical romance, I also read high school romance, mystery/thriller, and even psychological stories (a sucker for fucked-up stories). However, I hate the horror genre. Despite my relationship with you (e.g., friend, family), you could never force me to watch or read any horror-related stuff. Specifically, ghosts and jump scares.
My hobbies
While reading is my pastime, I also have a few other interests to spare time for. I like learning languages, cooking, baking, playing otome games (fictional men ftw), and sleeping. I am also currently studying Japanese, Spanish, and ASL. I’m interested in other languages, but I guess I will have to pass some time as I like to sleep more during my free time. Sleeping would be my priority (adulting sucks). I started this hobby of giving Manhwa reviews just this year (2024). Typically, I put it in my drafts, and it will be stuck there until I forget. This is why I decided to make this website to share my Manhwa reviews.
My website
I like the stars more than the moon. That being said, Sirius comes from the Greek word ‘Σείριος’ which literally means scorching or the brightest star. Maybe it is me trying to be witty, but I eventually decided on it for my blogging name, as sirius and serious sound the same. So, it’s up to you. Whenever you see the website’s name (the sirius reader), did I mistakenly spell the word serious, or is it my name? Which is which?
