How I Rate Books
How I Do Book Reviews
First of all, I do book reviews, but I would say I’m not a picky reader. This means that whenever I read, I let myself be swept away by the author’s storytelling. I tend to be an observer, waiting for the story to unfold and seeing how the characters evolve throughout the story. I don’t judge the characters easily, and oftentimes I try to understand the character’s attitude and personality. So, mostly, my reviews will be high, as I find joy in discovering the treasure and the differences between the stories.
However, there are, of course, some exceptions. Factors like this could be the plot, the characters, or sometimes the endings that made me disappointed. And though I don’t like where the story is going, I would still put much effort into finishing it, as I don’t like dropping books. I rarely drop stories, and even if I did, there might still be a chance that I would pick this story up and try to re-read it again, or just know that I did my best to try to find something that I would like. ;^;
Overall, my review would really depend on the author’s story. There would be times I would focus on one area (e.g., plot, character, ending), but I would do my best not to be biased during my review. That being said, here’s a description for my rating.
My Rating Scale
Chef's kiss! Enjoyed the story very much! I will definitely read it again in the future!
Great read! Love how it ended and would like to read it again in the future!
So-so. It is what it is, as people say.
That wasn’t quite what I hoped for.
I did everything I could to finish it.
